How to Make Their Favorite Foods Better
At WellBalance Health Camps for fitness and weight loss, you’ll learn how to cook healthy. Based on the advice of chefs and nutrition / culinary experts, every camper will learn the basics of what goes into the food we eat and how to make some of the foods we love in a new, healthy way. We teach campers healthy cooking tips and recipes with FOUR Nutrition & Culinary courses per week plus Electives if you want to really dig in and learn more!
Learn the Basics of Healthy Cooking
Learn by DOING! You don’t want to just sit in a classroom and hear someone talk AT you about culinary and nutrition. You could just read a book (or watch cooking on You Tube or Food Network!). Not at WellBalance. Through our ME Plan culinary & nutrition lessons you experience how to make healthy recipe substitusions, what flavors you like, plus what new foods you like and how to make them. Then you get to go home and boss your parents around about how to make dinner. You can even say parent things like, "Get out of the kitchen, I’m trying to make us dinner!"
How to Cook Healthy for Children, Teens, & Young Adults
Let’s say you love your mom’s fried chicken. I guess you’ll have to give that up? No. Not really. Campers will bring their favorite recipe to culinary class and we’ll pick recipes and figure out how to make them to your liking. Heck, we might even make these recipes for the entire camp. Then, we’ll include these fave recipes in your personalized ME Plan you take home at the end of weight loss camp.
Whether you love to cook or just love to eat, our Nutrition and Culinary program will provide the foundation for lifelong changes to better food choices.
