What is WellBalance?

We are a residential (overnight) health camp that uses a personalized approach to fitness and weight loss using medical expertise and research on what works for lasting success. We call it the ME Plan because we Motivate & Educate you on how to be successful at camp and at home with the ME Plan for Home.

What is the WellBalance Method?

camps weight lossThe WellBalance fitness and weight loss approach—the ME Plan—is based on balance (NOT moderation). We use a very simple formula to help campers achieve their weight loss goals: Calories OUT > Calories IN. You can achieve this by decreasing calories, increasing activity, or both—in order to have initial and long-term success.

How Much Weight Can I Lose?

In general, based on our experience in the weight loss industry, you can expect weight loss of 3 – 5 lbs per week (2011 campers completing our program averaged nearly 3.5 pounds of weight loss per week). However there are many factors that go into the amount of weight you will lose—how much weight do you need to lose? Are you trying to lose weight or build muscle? How motivated are you? We will help you determine your goals and set a personal plan for how to you make these goals a reality. 

WellBalance is also about MORE than weight loss.  We believe in your overall health of everyone, which is why we created the WellBalance Health Score to measure a camper's overall weight, fitness, medical, and emotional success!

Won’t the Weight Come Back After Camp?

boot camp weight lossTo maintain the weight loss you achieved at camp, or in order to continue losing weight at home, you’re going to need a long term plan for health. This is where the ME Plan for Home comes in, which is a workbook you update throughout your camp experience. Every nutrition / culinary class (4 per week minimum), fitness plan (8 - 10 per week, minimum), health coach lifestyle courses (3 per week minimum) you have the change to gain new skills that help create YOUR personalized ME Plan. 

The longer you stay, the more personal and specific the plan. At WellBalance we say, “It’s not the number of pounds you lose at camp that matters; it’s the number of years you successfully keep the weight off.”
